McCarey. The Christophers are an organization that wants to use
different mediums such radio, TV, and film to inspire young
people to change the world for the better by pursuing careers in
public service like teaching and government work.
Comedian
Jack Benny has his butler, Rochester, call several of his
celebrity friends over to the house. Appearances by Bing Crosby,
Bob Hope, Irene Dunne, Paul Douglas, William Holden and Loretta
Young among others. Jack Benny introduces them to Catholic
priest
James Keller, who speaks to them about doing a
film for a group called the Christophers. The priest gives
the celebrities a history lesson about the founding of the U.S.
and God's role in it, and he asks for their help. Excellent+

COUNTRY - 1953 Walt Disney 33 minute featurette. Produced
by Walt Disney as part of the True-Life Adventures series
of nature documentaries, and played with
Peter Pan during
its original theatrical run. A photographic study of the
American black bear and his home in the Rocky Mountains.
Describes the animal's feeding habits, his lengthy hibernation
period, his desire to be comfortable and comical back
scratching. Includes scenes of the disciplining of cubs, the
mother's desertion of her offspring after two years, and a
battle between male bears at the mating season. Excellent+
